Dear Artist-- Thank you for your interest in the Carrizozo Artists-in-Residence (AIR) program in Carrizozo, New Mexico!
The mission of the Carrizozo AIR is to provide space and time to focus on chosen projects in the arts. With a broad definition of ‘artist,’ the Carrizozo AIR is open to a wide range of artistic mediums including and not limited to: painting, printmaking, photography, drawing, installation, film, sculpture, book arts, design, sound, performance, dance, literary arts, philosophy, and curatorial studies. Individuals, couples, friends, collaborative teams, and families are welcome (no pets).
The Residency promises both solitude and interaction with Carrizozo's public and community organizations. The Carrizozo AIRs come to this program to break new ground, to focus on a specific project goal, or to find new meaning in the art making process. Carrizozo residents enjoy interacting with the Artists-in-Residence and offer their wholehearted support and engagement.
