The Spence Home
about the Spence home…
Frank English spent almost a year building this imposing brick home for Clarence Spence, finishing it in 1909. Spence owned a large sheep ranch west of Town and lost it after he fell into financial troubles in the 1924 panic. It was also used as a hospital by Dr. Frank Johnson and was later owned by colorful brothers Otto and Ernie Prehm. Badly run down, it has undergone several needed repairs and is now a private residence.
